Objectives of the project :

Maasvlakte 2 is the extension of the port of Rotterdam. A new top European location for port activities and industry is being created on the west of the historical port location and industrial area. The objective of the study consists in providing the port of Rotterdam with a general assistance in the concessioning of the container terminal Maasvklate 2.

Activities performed by CTS :

CTS assisted the port of Rotterdam in the concessioning of the container terminal Maasvklate 2. The next points were investigated by CTS to conduct the realization of the project: 
 Assistance to the financial and technical model forecasts up to 35 years : definition of the phasing and the investment type, the staff required, the financial flows and the margins
- Marketing and strategic studies for the definition of the terminal positioning on the transshipment and gateway markets
- Support the port authorities during the tender process : definition of the specifications and expectations from the future operator, definition of selection and performance standards
- Assistance for the selection of the bidders : analysis of the OBC, financial, technical and marketing proposal
- Creation of decision-making tools
- Draft of Request for Purchasing documents
- Assessment and rating of the offers
