Objectives of the project :

Regarding the penetration of the 45PW container format in western Europe, and following a previous study on this topic on the Rhone Saone bassin (carried out by CTS), the French Waterways' Authority has decided to study the opportunities on the Seine bassin at 2013.

Activities performed by CTS :

In the framework of PREDIT (research program for transport), this study aims at analyzing the conditions for a modal shift from road to river using palletwide 45 feet containers. In partnership with stakeholders, Ports of Paris asked CTS to assess the feasibility of a PW45 service between the sea ports of Le Havre and Rouen and the river ports of Gennevilliers and Bonneuil.
